THE BLOCK ISLAND MEDICAL CENTER
Block Island Medical Center is a Primary Care Facility providing
community health care, able to handle urgent and emergent needs. Through
our in-house Providers, partnerships with visiting specialists, and a
mainland referral network, the Medical Center helps ensure the health,
safety, and well-being of island residents and visitors

The Medical Center is open for appointments:
Monday – Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
be aware that we are, first and foremost, a primary care facility. We
ask that you please call the Medical Center for an appointment at (401)-466-2974 during regular business hours.
For after-hour needs, it is necessary to call (401)-466-3220 to be triaged for further guidance or 911 for emergencies.
Please do not arrive at the Medical Center without calling the appropriate phone number.
medical team consists of a board-certified Family Medicine Physician, a
board-certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse of Family Medicine, a
board-certified Registered Nurse, two medical assistants, visiting
specialists, and our administrative team. The Block Island Medical
Center is a teaching site of Brown University Warren Alpert School of
Medicine, frequently hosting visiting medical students and resident
physicians. These visiting practitioners help care for patients under
the direct supervision of our providers.
Medical Director oversees the clinical and administrative staff, the
quality of care, and the overall functioning of the Center. The Medical
Director reports to the Block Island Health Services membership-elected
Board of Directors. The Medical Center also has a professional advisory
committee that supports the Board of Directors. To become a member and

non-profit 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization.

regularly visiting practitioners use the consultation and treatment
rooms for integrative medical services such as behavioral health,
physical therapy, chiropractic massage, and acupuncture.
