Trash disposal is a frequent issue on Block Island. All of our beaches are carry in/carry out. Everything you bring with you onto the beach, you should plan on taking off of the beach. One can use the attached map to find the locations of public trash cans. Accumulating litter and debris on the beaches and in the surrounding areas can harm the local wildlife and ecosystem. Additionally, using public trash cans is a simple way for everyone to show respect for the island's community and its natural resources, and help ensure that future visitors, and yourself, can enjoy the pristine environment our island offers. Remember, leave no trace!
