Block Island is glorious in the fall. Less traffic, empty beaches, miles of pristine trails, flora and fauna galore. The Island is still open and there is plenty to do.
The only ferry running this time of year is the Block Island Ferry out of Point Judith and New England Airlines can get you here from Westerly in just 15 minutes if you choose to fly.
Accommodations are available at The 1661 Inn, INN at the Spring House, and Avonlea.
Restaurants available are:
Bethanny’s Airport Diner (breakfast and lunch daily), Club Soda ( dinner nightly), Block Island Pizza Pie Co.(Breakfast, lunch and dinner Thursday-Sunday), Eli’s (dinner Friday - Sunday), Kimberly’s (Dinner Thursday - Monday, Lunch added on Sat and Sun), Barn at Spring House (dinner Wednesday - Sunday), McAloon's (dinner nightly, lunch added Sat and Sun).
The Block Island Depot and Block Island Grocery are also both open with deli counters and prepared meals to go.
Many shops are open on the weekends and some are open daily with limited hours.
There are still bike and car rentals available and the trails stay open for Glass Float searching and exploring year-round. The self guided bike tour is also available year-round as are our awesome Taxi Tours of the Island! You can explore our beaches and the grounds of both lighthouses are always open.
November also brings us the Holiday Stroll over Thanksgiving Weekend. You'll find the famous Lobster-Pot-Tree in the center of town and many of the shops open with great discounts for all your holiday shopping needs! The High-speed ferry from Pt. Judith resumes for the weekend and the ferry even arranged to have the Southeast Light Delights Food Truck serving in the center of town! Why fight the crowds on Black Friday when you can enjoy "Block Friday" instead!
We also have the Turkey Trot Road Race on Saturday, Nov. 24th, in case you need to burn off any of that Thanksgiving Feast!
More information can always be found 24/7 at www.blockislandinfo.com
or right at the Visitor Center in the Ferry Parking lot (Weekdays only 10-3, closed weekends) when you get to the Island.
Hope to see you soon!
