Precautions taken to mitigate the impact of Covid-19 have led to the cancellation of many annual July 4 celebrations this year, but with so much still open and available to do here, this could just be the perfect time to start a new tradition on Block Island.
Out of an abundance of caution and concern for the health and well-being of all of our visitors and residents, the annual July 4 parade, Steak Fry and annual Fireworks display have all indeed been canceled.
Our beautiful beaches, however, are open! So come and enjoy the simple pleasures. Parade yourself and your family along our beautiful shorelines and bask in the natural splendor that truly makes Block Island a destination to treasure.
If you’re hungry and missing the Steak Fry, fear not, our plentiful restaurants are now open for both outdoor and indoor dining, and you’re sure to find just the right thing to hit the spot. It should be noted, however, that restaurant capacity will be limited, so now, more than ever, reservations are highly recommended.
So while the festivities this year may not seem exactly like a typical July 4 celebration, visiting our island has never been about doing the usual thing. Come make your July 4 extraordinary on Block Island.
